FAQ

Questions worth asking first

What the data is, what the scoring does, and where the limits are — before you spend time on it.

Where does the company data come from?

The UK Companies House public register — company profiles, officers, persons with significant control, charges, and filing history. Financial figures are extracted from the iXBRL accounts companies file there. We reproduce and organise that data; we don't buy or blend in third-party datasets.

How current is the data?

Company profiles sync on demand when you look at them, and a daily sweep refreshes companies that have gone stale. It is not real time, so it can lag the register — the product shows data freshness where that matters rather than implying everything is current.

Does AI decide which companies match?

No. Matching, eligibility, scoring, and signal severity are computed by a deterministic rules engine. AI only writes natural-language explanations of results that engine already produced. That separation is enforced structurally in the codebase — the scoring and signal engines cannot even import the AI layer — so it can't erode over time.

Can I see why a company scored what it did?

Yes, in full. Every score breaks down into the criteria that matched, the ones that didn't, what each contributed, and which figures were unknown. The components sum to exactly 100, so there is no unexplained remainder.

What happens when data is missing?

It is marked unknown and lowers the confidence attached to the score. It is never treated as zero. A company with no filed revenue figure is not scored as a company with £0 revenue — that distinction is the difference between a useful score and a misleading one.

Which companies are covered?

UK companies on the Companies House register. There is no coverage of other jurisdictions, and no private or off-register data.

Is this investment advice?

No. It is research and intelligence tooling. Nothing in the product is a recommendation to buy, sell, or invest, and a fit score measures alignment with criteria you chose — not a company's quality or prospects. Take your own professional advice before acting.

Can AI-generated text be wrong?

Yes. It is grounded in your own data and cannot invent figures into a score, but generated prose can still be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Verify it against the underlying record before relying on it.

What does it cost?

Paid plans are not live yet, so the product is currently free to use on the Free plan's limits, with no card required. The planned tiers and their limits are on the Pricing page.

Can my team share a workspace?

Yes. Data belongs to an organization rather than to an individual, and you can invite teammates with an owner, admin, or member role. Everyone in an organization sees that organization's Buy Boxes, watchlists, pipeline, notes, and documents.

Can another customer see my data?

No. Tenant separation is enforced by the database itself through row-level security, not only by application code, and it is verified by an automated cross-tenant test suite that runs against a real database.

Can I export or delete my data?

Yes, both from Settings → Account, without asking anyone. Export produces a machine-readable JSON file of your profile and everything you created. Deletion removes your account and any organization where you're the only member.
